Friendship is in the air

Source: elsitiodevicti.blogspot.comWell, well, well. The last few days, in spite of my busy schedule (what schedule?), things have improved a little bit for me, emotionally speaking. I’m finally starting to "unfall" in love with my best friend… hope things keep this way, so we can finally become the best friends of the world, without those "strange" feelings from me towards her…

On the other side, my gorgeous Canadian friend (the "saved by the cold" one) became twenty-something-years-old on Wednesday…  she has been through a lot of things, but she also had a great time on her special day… and, in spite of some depressive thoughts -which assail everyone once in a while-, she realized how happy she is for having such good friends. And that makes me really happy too…

My grandma, my cousin, me, and my uncle

On Friday there was this ceremony of a local internet awards we had been nominated to. We didn’t win, but we had a good time, chatted a while, had some wine and talked a lot of stuff about the future of our project. We’re going "big", but I can’t tell anything yet, hehe…  Definitively, friendship is on the air these days… ah, and the best of all is that today I found some pictures of my graduation last year… (ラッキー!!)

Police sealing the area of the shooting (PD image)

It was really shocking to learn about the shooting in Montreal’s Dawson College. When the title of the BBC story passed on my Firefox RSS ticker and, after clicking on it, I read the word Montreal, the first person I thought of was a dear beautiful friend I have in the City of Saints. Before reading the news and starting the Spanish Wikinews story, I sent her an e-mail, asking her for reply me as long as she could so I ensure she was fine. The hours passed by and, as more details about the shooting showed up, my friend "didn’t give vital signs". I was so worried, even though deep inside I was sure she was fine, because she doesn’t even attend that school.

Why there’s always some psycho who wants to "celebrate" massive murders just because he hates life? This guy, the shooter, had a lot of things… at least, he had access to a PC to write his thoughts. There are countries people can’t even think about it. He had food, and a place to sleep, for sure. But he wasn’t "cool" with his life, so he decided to earn his 15 "posthumous" minutes of fame. Fortunately, he had a bad shot and the police could take him down. It’s so sad and even hideous to say this, but if cops didn’t do that, we would be crying a real massacre. Just one person, a girl, died. Our thoughts are with his family and friends, of course.

Finally, my friend replied me around midnight. I read her message on my cellphone like at 5 a.m. She and some friends have a project, so they finished one part of it at 11 a.m. and were scheduled to meet again at noon in a place near Dawson, but she felt kinda weird, it seems she got a cold, so, because of her "fault", everyone went home, since what they were doing couldn’t go on without her… She was shocked by the news, too, even more than me. "This was not meant to be happening in Montreal", she told me. Can you believe it? Her cold saved her friends, at least from trouble or being around that place. She’s so sweet, and it turns out she’s so blessed too. She’s just great.

In my country, even worse things happen everyday, but Canada is such a great place to live… I’m really glad she’s OK and I hope she gets well soon. Hope things like these didn’t repeat again, but that’s just a nice thought… nothing else…
